I really want to share this video of two students demonstrating what proper practice can look like. One one side is Doug, who has 100 lb weight advantage, a considerable reach advantage, and decades of life experience. On the other hand is Brandan, who practises between 2-6 hours per day, depending on his school and work schedule, and who has the ideal attitude for martial arts mastery.
What we see here is the evolution of skill over a 10 minute period, and a fine demonstration of how students can always learn from each other if both are willing to teach and to learn.
